Intel names new executives for its Data Center and Client Computing divisions

With the recent appointment of Lip Bu Tan as CEO of Intel, the company is undergoing a series of changes aimed at redirecting its strategy and overcoming this financial slump. To this end, Intel has announced new leadership appointments in two of its key divisions, the data center and client computing group, as well as changes in other divisions aimed at improving the company’s overall situation.
Kevork Kechichian is the new executive vice president of Intel’s Data Center Group.
To lead the Data Center group, Kevork Kechichian has been appointed executive vice president of this group. In this role, Kevork Kechichian will lead Intel’s cloud and enterprise data center division, which also includes its Intel Xeon processors. Kevork comes from Arm and has previously held engineering roles at Qualcomm and NXP Semiconductor.
Jim Johnson, who previously served in this role on an interim basis, has been appointed to the Client Computing group. Jim Johnson has been with Intel for over 40 years and with this position, aims to foster the growth of the global Edge and consumer PC ecosystems.

Intel has just formed a new Engineering group, which Srini Iyengar will lead. With this group, Iyengar will be responsible for engineering functions and building a new custom silicon business to meet new customer demand. Srini Iyengar joins Cadence Design Systems, where she held a similar role, and will now offer her expertise to fulfill these functions at Intel.

In addition to these new roles, there are also developments at Intel Foundry, where Naga Chandrasekaran will now expand his role as Vice President and Chief Technology Officer to also include Foundry Service. This expansion aims to build a more integrated structure across foundry services to deliver better solutions to customers. Chandrasekaran joins Micron and has been at Intel since last year, where he will contribute his experience as vice president of technology development.
Naga Chandrasekaran will also expand his role to Intel Foundry Service.
Another change in Intel’s management is that Michelle Johnston Holthaus will leave Intel after more than 30 years with the company, where she served as executive director of Intel Products.
This restructuring follows the new CEO’s strategy to lead the company to a «New Intel.»
